Time for a Little Friday Haiku

I've a tradition
Among many of my friends
For Friday haiku

When the day is long
Nothing makes the darn clock tick
'Cept five-seven-five

Today has been light
Pizza party and starbucks
Proposal writing

But try as I might
The afternoon is dragging
With no end in sight

Tonight will be fun
Dixie Chicks at Verizon
Will they bash the Prez?

Plus happy hour with
Sangria and paella
Brunette will be pleased

'Til then, though, I must
Amuse myself with quizzes
What once was Emode

My ideal guy type
Is THE ROMANTIC; beware
Flowers and fine wine

Still not five o'clock!
Perhaps I shall check headlines
What's Mel up to now?
