But after the lecture we braved the downpour and made it to The Daily Grill for a late dinner. I'd never been there before, which had been the source of an ongoing argument with Foreign Guy for like 2 years. "Hey, this is that place where we ate with XX." "Um, no, I've never been there." "Yes you have! You ate with me." "Um, no I haven't." And so on. So now I've been there for real. There was this *fantastic* pork chop with a blackberry sauce and a side of sauteed zucchini and apples. I think I have a new favorite pork chop. I splurged on TWO glasses of wine - I'm not ashamed to say I love a good fruity riesling - and now I'm a little toasty. Hooray!
A few random tidbits:
1. I'm loving spending so much time with Brunette again! I think I've had enough wine to say that I'm glad she's single these days, cuz we really missed her back when she was dating that guy. We never got to see her without him! Brunette, I'm glad we're having fun again! :-)
2. I'm sitting here watching tonight's episode of House, which I recorded. How old school am I? I actually put in a tape and set the VCR. Is TiVo really worth it? Must investigate.
3. Speaking of House, I've decided that the best way for me to quench my misanthrope craving -- give me a guy who's cynical and hates the world and I'll be infatuated instantly - is by having tv crushes. I need to keep filling my real life with good, solid, friendly, reasonable guys. No more real curmudgeons, as long as I have my regular House fix I'll be much better off.
4. Brunette and I had a lot of fun talking about how I could simplify my life by selling most of my old stuff on Craigs' List and moving to a new, smaller place. It sounds so appealing. Must work on it.
5. And here's the big news...... Woohoo! One of my images got chosen for the juried exhibition at CHAW! Hooray! It's the image called Tiles that I took in early November. The exhibit opens in January - I'll share more details soon.
